Scholarships

There are three main types of scholarships available: (1) scholarships from private organizations, (2) scholarships from state and federal government, and (3) college-specific scholarships. Scholarships are then further separated into two categories: need-based and merit-based.

Scholarship deadlines are generally in the fall, an entire year before they begin their first semester at college -- so don't wait too long to look into them.

Also, keep in mind that it will take some time to investigate all the options, so set aside a couple of hours a week in order to find all opportunities available.
